| New Magnum 100': largest and greener |
|
The styling was designed by the talented young, Italian designer, Alberto Mancini, and offers a completely new concept of outdoor cockpit livability. The Magnum 100' has different seating, dining and viewing areas, with an expandable top providing various and movable shaded areas .
She will be equipped with twin MTU diesels of 2600 HP for a top speed of appx. 55 MPH. Technologically designed by Magnum to be eco friendly , Magnum emphasizes weight saving through the use of stronger and lighter materials.
The vessel is built in advanced composite foams and carbon fiber, allowing critical HP to weight ratios to be met with lower power, thus saving more than 20% in weight compared to similar models. Also making the vessel structure more rigid and more efficient. For less drag and therefore improved fuel consumption, Magnum installs surface drives which not only reduce consumption but also increase top speed.
The Magnum designed Interior LED and fluorescent lighting will increase efficiency and decrease interior heat load. Interiors will be custom designed for her owner and include four double and very large staterooms, heads, reception and salon areas and of course comfortable crew cabins. All has been designed to be the most environmentally friendly, the most comfortable, the most seaworthy and fast new yacht in the world.

first I'd like to say thank you and cingratulations on centralizing the green info for the yachting industry. This is great! I love the simple, kind alternatives you list for some exterior cleaning tasks. FYI, baking soda is also great for stainless steel, leaves an amazing shine and doesn't scratch. Do you know if the lemon/salt treatment would work for mildew growing in our teak decks? We have been using the boat water for wash downs and this strips the water of chlorine and other chemicals that prevented mildew from growing in the wood. We would like to continue using the boat water but need to treat the decks with something and I REALLY don't want to use chemicals. I'd appreciate any feedback. The site looks great and is easy to navigate and find information. There are a few spelling errors and typos (see home page) but nothing too glaring. Thanks again for making this information available to the yachting world.
