The Columbus Sport 130’ Hybrid is the newest green yacht on construction by the italian yard. Due to be finished by 2013 this new yacht is an effort to go towards greener route with its Hybrid propulsion and other environmental qualities. Designed by Hydro Tec this green beauty will be powered by two main MTU 12V 2000 M94 engines, but she’ll be capable of running on just her gensets and the Hybrid system allows to have electrical navigation for a maximum speed of 7.5 kn with a comfortable cruising range of 5,000 nm.
The Hybrid system can be useful for quiet navigation and can also be very useful during manoeuvring in port even while having the Main Diesel Engines turned off apart from the possibility to access protected areas, forbidden to the diesel powered yachts.
After Benetti, Ferretti and Fipa Group another italian Shipyard start to shift its productio
n to these new standards, Palumbo shipyard's experience with RINA Green Star Plus award (with M/Y PRIMA), among the strictest notations, will definitely help to fulfill the construction with these highest standards.
To comply to the latest IMO MARPOL regulations all models will be equipped with a bilge water separator even if not requested by class, the hull is a semi-displacement type, and all the superstructure are in aluminum, to reduce the weight and the consumption.

lished stainless steel, and leather.
Each detail of the Columbus Sport 130’ Hybrid yacht has been carefully studied, like the salon large windows to increase natural light and to reduces the energy consumption, all these features makes this model one of a kind and a new standard to follow in the new eco-yachts class.
